The Ten Square Miles

A colloquialism referring to the city of Washington, D.C, and its role as the capital of the United States of America. The phrase is derived from Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution for the United States of America, which reads that Congress may force one or more states to cede a territory that is not larger than ten miles square (i.e. 100 square miles).

Modern-day Washington, D.C. city is less than 100 square miles because the part of the square that was taken from Virginia was returned. The appearance of D.C. itself plus Arlington County, Virginia suggests the original 100 square mile city with territory ceded by both Maryland and Virginia.
Meanwhile, back at Ten Miles Square, Federal politicians were proposing a different approach than one advocated by the Governors of many states.

Goldman is Goddamed and they are trying to take down the US with it.

Hoffa Says Goldman Sachs Driving YRC Into Bankruptcy (Update1) - Bloomberg.com
Dec. 17 (Bloomberg) -- International Brotherhood of Teamsters President James Hoffa said Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is creating derivatives trades that would profit from the bankruptcy of YRC Worldwide Inc., the trucking company trying to avert failure with a debt exchange.

The most profitable securities firm in Wall Street history “is actively soliciting bond trades for clients and underwriting credit-default swaps to benefit from a failed exchange and resulting bankruptcy,” Hoffa, the union leader, wrote in a letter dated yesterday to Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein.

Let's face the fact this company is behind some of the most outrageous financial schemes of all times. Once the SEC filing are in for the last three mts there will be little doubt left about the intent of this company. The shorting of Gold as they had done during the last filing period will just be the icing on the cake.

Bush's UN Ambassador is a guess of a Military junta for his book release?

Military junta hosts book launch for John Bolton and Heritage Foundation | UN Dispatch
Former U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton and Heritage Foundation fellow Brett Schaefer have a new book out. It's called ConUNdrum (get it?!): The Limits of the United Nations and the Search for Alternatives. I confess to not having read the book yet, so I hesitate to pass judgment. But you know who does have an opinion? Fiji's UN Ambassador, Berenado Vunibobo. He hosted a book launch for Bolton and Shaefer at the end of October.

This raises eyebrows, shall we say, because Fiji has been under military rule since December 2006, when Commodore Bainimarama toppled the government. Since then, Human Rights Watch reports that Bainimarama has consolidated his power and detained political opponents. Fijian troops are even barred from participating in UN Peacekeeping missions. And, just last week, the self-appointed Bainimarama expelled top diplomats from Australia and New Zealand who criticized his regime.

This says it all of Bolton....Hates the UN loves Military junta, hmmmmmmm what past POTUS reminds me of this view on government and the people??????????
